I’ve been exclusively using Excellent Edges for close to 20 years, and this is my second pair of Marlins. When my first pair hit retirement after 10 years of regular servicing at the factory, I decided it was time, and there was no question what their replacement would be.

The big mouth Marlin is slightly more compact, which makes it awesome for detailing short haircuts. The shape is stunning, and feels so comfortable. The angle of the blade means slicing is able to be done wet or dry with no drag whatsoever, and this gives them so much versatility.

I use them in many ways to adjust weight, add texture, they’re great in place of a razor when you feel the hair texture might be a bit coarse, and incredible to carve shapes into the hair. Love them to boost a curly cut. So so versatile.

I can’t fault these, and I was 100% happy with the pair I ran for years. I didn’t think they could get any better, but they have improved somehow. They’re an absolutely beautiful tool and make my job even more of a pleasure. These and the condor make my days a joy. Thank you so much.

I usually use 6,5 or 7 but she fits good in the family of seven excellent scissors. Need a bigger holster though. 😅
